rio 3-63, composed of flutist Andrea Ernest Dias, pianist Paulo Braga and percussionist Marcos Suzano pay their homage to composer Moacir Santos in their most recent concert. Not only does the repertoire bring classic pieces by Moacir Santos, such as “Paraíso” and “Coisa n.1” but also unique work by the Pernambuco composer, namely the mojo ones “This is so good” and “The beautiful life”, the ballads “Love go down” and “Sambatango”, all discovered during research conducted by Andrea on the personal collection of the composer, in California. The trio will perform songs from the record CD Trio-63, released in 2009 by the label Sambatown. The three instrumentalists born in the year 1963 are regarded by the specialized critics as an ensemble beyond classical or popular genres. They are seen as a model in the construction of a new paradigm of professional performance by musicians who process and express naturally the many influences and experiences; be that those of concerto, jazz, samba, choro or electroacoustic musics.
