The duo has recently won the 2011 Brazilian Music Award for their release "Gismontipascoal – the music of Egberto and Hermeto" as “Best Instrumental Album”. Piano and mandolin beautifully recreate the compositions of these pillars of Brazilian music. True guardians of such beautiful and long-standing musical tradition, the duo gives spontaneous and precise renditions of the masterpieces written by these geniuses, in a minimalist formation which nevertheless remains amazingly colorful. The mandolinist also received a second prize at the same event, as best instrumental soloist for the album “Esperança – Live in Europe”.
